Dear Mr. Petrik,

I received a call from Mary Wisdom at the Public Defender's office
acknowledging their receipt and possession of Mr. Hicks file including all
of the original documents to which you refer. I also received CONFIRMATION
that Mr. Hicks received a copy of his entire file. I no longer represent Mr.
Hicks nor do I possess the documents that you repeatedly threaten me to
preserve. Direct all of your future correspondence to the Public Defender's
office. As for the Bar. Mr. Lee informed me that he was satisfied with my
offices actions in withdrawing from the case and my actions in providing two
and not just one copy of Mr. Hicks file. I will no longer be responding to
your repeated contacts of my office.

Best Regards,

John R. Gaertner

The Four Most Powerful Words in the Criminal Courthouse

Mark Bennett

Try this:

Stand up. Raise one foot off the ground. Now shift your weight forward. Don’t set your raised foot down. What happens?

You fall down.

But if you do the same thing and set the raised foot down to stop your fall, you take a step. Raise the other foot off the ground, shift your weight forward, and set your raised foot down to catch you. String a series of these events together, and you’re moving across the ground.

Walking....
